The sports betting gross handle increased by 2 per cent year-over-year.
US.- The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council (SWC) has reported on the state’s sports betting activity for March. The gross handle was $559.5m, an increase of 2 per cent year-over-year and up from $460m in February.
According to the report, gross wagers amounted to $562.6m after $3m worth of adjustments. Privilege tax totalled $10.4m. The council did not provide a breakdown by operator or sport, nor operator revenues.
Earlier this year, Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti sent formal cease-and-desist letters to almost forty online sweepstakes casinos operating in the state. His office said the promotional sweepstakes model constitutes an illegal lottery prohibited by the Tennessee Constitution.
