Oddschecker owner FPSM adds UK media veteran to leadership team

FairPlay Sports Media (FPSM), the company behind the Oddschecker odds comparison site, has appointed a new member of its c-level team.

The company has named Hannah Buitekant as its Chief Growth Officer. Buitekant has been tasked with the leading execution of the firm’s growth strategy for both its media partners and iGaming operators.

Buitekant will take a leading role in building FPSM’s go-to-market engine, as well as overseeing customer success, account management and product sales capabilities as the firm looks to enter new markets and sports verticals.

She joins FPSM over two and half years after the company initiated its rebrand from its original identity as the Oddschecker group. This ushered in a new strategy at the company, with a focus on being data-led and technology-led.

On her appointment Buitekant said: “What really drew me in is that FairPlay Sports Media has advanced technology and AI solutions that redefine how value flows between consumers, media and operators.

“These solutions aren’t just transactional, they are built to keep consumers coming back, which is what drives stronger, more durable outcomes for our partners and iGaming operators.

“My priority is converting FPSM’s platform and product investment into the engine that generates high-value consumer relationships, and I’m looking forward to working with the team and our partners/ customers to realise the full potential of this market-leading AI powered technology.”

FPSM has cited its new hire’s near-two decades of experience in digital businesses, with Buitekant having worked on executing commercial transformations and developing strategic partnerships across media and technology.

Buitekant’s longest stint with a media company saw her work at dmg media – which publishes the Daily Mail, Metro, and i newspapers as well as the New Scientist magazine –  for 12 years.

She concluded her tenure in the role of Chief Commercial Digital and Strategy Officer.

“Hannah is a fantastic addition to our executive team at FairPlay Sports Media, said Stuart Simms, FPSM Group CEO.

“Her track record speaks for itself; she has performed in evolving markets, overcoming sector challenges to deliver consistent growth with an acute eye on finding new engagement and partnership opportunities.

“As we continue to scale our AI powered platforms and products globally, Hannah’s commercial expertise and experience working in mutli-brand, audience centric companies will be invaluable in accelerating our next growth phase, further strengthening our position as a leader in the sports media market.”
